The Takeoff
It starts on a ridge, the ocean stretched wide in front of you. The breeze lifts, the wing fills, and then your feet leave the ground. For a moment there’s a rush, and then—silence. Just you, the air, and the slow glide into the wide open.
The View
From the sky, the islands are alive in color. Reefs glow turquoise and jade beneath you. Sailboats drift across the water like pieces on a blue-green board. Hills rise sharp and lush, their shadows falling over beaches so bright they look unreal. Even if you’ve explored the islands by boat or car, nothing compares to this view.

The Feeling
There’s no motor, no noise. Just a steady pull of wind and the feeling of floating. It’s not the heart-pounding freefall of skydiving—it’s calm, almost meditative. You feel small against the expanse of sea and sky, but also part of it, carried along like a bird that belongs there.
The Landing
The ride can last twenty minutes, maybe more if the winds are kind. Eventually, the shoreline rises to meet you again. You touch down soft on the sand, the wing collapsing behind you. A few steps later, your toes are in the surf. Adrenaline gives way to calm, and you realize you’ve seen the Virgin Islands in a way few ever do.
Why It Stays With You
People visit these islands for the beaches, the sailing, the sunsets. But when you fly here, you take something else home. A memory of weightless freedom, of the world spread out in color beneath you, of a moment when the horizon wasn’t a limit but an invitation.

Tours are only an hour long so you can easily add this into other parts of your trip. Here is a sample of how to add a Paragliding trip into your day at Sapphire Beach area.
